i heard one of these people call in to the hugh hewitt show a few days ago and he started saying " I agree with Donald Trump because I believe abortion is murder..." ; immediately Hewitt stopped him and said "Don't play that game with me, you are obviously a 'seminar caller'..." , & hung up on him & said something about not being born yesterday. Hewitt's show was dedicated to making clear that the pro-life people do NOT think women should be punished for having abortions, but that the doctor or whoever performs or facilitates the abortion should be punished [if and when it is illegal, past or future] . So I had never heard that term before and later I googled it, and this is what I found:
"A seminar caller is a coined phrase for someone who mainly telephones conservative radio talk shows for the purpose of astroturfing, which is the mass promotion of a particular product, service, or opposing political point of view as if it were genuinely spontaneous, or grassroots.
Many of these supposed seminar callers try to portray themselves as regular people, claim to agree with the host's point of view, then begin to read a contrary opinion from an agenda or list of talking points widely circulated by a group or organization who oppose the views of the host.[1]..."
Just beware of these people. They make us compassionate and concerned pro-life people look and seem bad...and that's their intention...to make us appear to be wild-eyed angry conservatives who want to punish women who have abortions. That's not what we represent. We care about both the baby & the mother. If we are angry at anybody it is the liberal agenda to try to make it so easy for women to have abortions and make it seem as if it is a good thing. That's what makes us angry. We love and care about the women & the babies.
