helped fewer pregnant women with prenatal care and the
number of pregnant women it referred for adoptions declined
as well.
The report also breaks down the “services” Planned
Parenthood offers in addition to abortions. Planned
Parenthood has always come under fire from pro-life groups
for doing hundreds of thousands of abortions by providing little
in the way of help for pregnant woman wanting to keep their
baby or considering adoption. The new report shows that
hasn’t changed.
The new document the abortion organization posted shows
Planned Parenthood did 329,445 abortions in 2010 while it
provided prenatal care to only 31,098 women and referred
only 841 women to adoption agencies.
The number of women receiving prenatal care dropped
significantly from 2009 to 2010, as the abortion business
helped 40,489 women in 2009 — meaning almost 10,000
fewer women received prenatal support from Planned
Parenthood last year than the year prior, or a drop of almost
25 percent.
The number of women getting adoption referrals also declined
— from a low 977 in 2009 to 841 last year, or a decline of 14
percent.
Examined another way Planned Parenthood does 391 abortions
for every adoption referral it makes and almost 11 abortions
for every woman it helps with prenatal care..."

OHIO VERY CLOSE TO MAKING ABORTION MUCH MORE DIFFICULT: The "Heartbeat Bill" appears to be on the way to passing in Ohio, meaning if a doctor can detect a heartbeat,abortion would NOT be allowed by Ohio law. That would mean almost every,if not every, fetus, I suspect (altho I haven't studied the issue). Let's hope & pray this passes, and that it has a ripple effect !

"Requiem Mass for the Unborn ‘brings people together’

T he annual Shantigarh Requiem for the Unborn Mass, taking place the evening of Jan. 21 at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels with Archbishop José Gomez presiding, will draw people from all generations, including teenage choristers.

John Bonaduce, composer of the Requiem Mass for the Unborn and music director of Our Lady of Peace Church in North Hills, will conduct a combined choir made up of 80-100 singers from choirs he teaches at Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks as well as his Shantigarh Choir at St. Bernardine of Siena Church in Woodland Hills and also singers from other parishes. 

Music for the Mass, written specifically to affirm the Church’s belief in the sanctity of all human life, has had an impact on its singers, including some of the young men of Notre Dame’s “Chevalier” advanced choir, who spoke to The Tidings last week after rehearsal.

“When I sing these songs, I really pay attention to the words, and the meaning of the music really hit me,” said Martin Mendiola, sophomore. His favorite song is “Tell this Generation,” which, he explains, “reminds everyone who’s listening to not forget what we’re supposed to do [because] sometimes we forget what’s right or get so caught up in life.” The music’s pro-life message resonates with Mendiola since, “I really think that anyone should have the opportunity to life.”

Fellow sophomore Ryan Snyder observes that the Mass welcomes people “of many opinions” and also “brings people together.” He thinks the music is evocative of “the emotions or feelings of the unborn child who cannot speak and who can be lost so easily [through abortion].”

“It’s the most beautiful music I’ve ever sung, and I’ve been singing church music for a long time,” said Brett Schaffer, a sophomore who sang in his school choir at St. Charles Borromeo School in North Hollywood. “What really struck me was the amount of emotion put into Mr. Bonaduce’s music.

“What the Requiem really does well,” Schaffer continued, “is that it stresses the importance of life no matter how small or how big. It’s saying that life is important, a sacred gift given to you by God. It’s not our right to take that away, because then we’d be playing God.”

Bonaduce told The Tidings that it’s important for his young choristers to attend the Requiem to appreciate that all life, even aborted preborn life, is worthy of commemorating.

“I don’t have to take pro-choice students away from their political base, I just need to nudge them toward the sanctity of life and that’s why they, above all, have to be here,” said Bonaduce. Singing at the Requiem Mass is a required Notre Dame choir activity along with participating in campus Mass choirs and other events.

Bonaduce points out that attendance at the Requiem Mass has grown every year since it first debuted in 1995. It was annually held in different parishes and venues around the archdiocese until the early 2000s, when it moved to the new Cathedral.

“This year, it’s the first time with Archbishop José Gomez as presider, and I’m thrilled he wants to participate,” said Bonaduce.

Among those attending the Requiem Mass will be participants from the Annual Life Issues Conference sponsored by the Right to Life League of Southern California at St. Anthony Croatian Church in Los Angeles the afternoon of Jan. 21. On Jan. 20, 8:30 a.m.-7 p.m., the Respect Life Ministry of St. John Eudes in Chatsworth will hold its third annual Day of Prayer for Life.

Dear philip, Good news -- from the courts of all places. It looks like Obama's pro-abortion biases are about to get their wings clipped. While the Supreme Court is normally a guardian of abortion-on-demand, President Obama's recent actions have been even too much for the Court to stomach. As pro-lifers know, during the fight over health care, the Obama Administration, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid set as one of their top priorities the channeling of taxpayer money to abortionists. Since then, not only has Obama Administration funneled taxpayer funding for abortion from the federal government, but they are demanding that states cough up your tax dollars too. In May, the State of Indiana passed a law forbidding the transfer of any taxpayer dollars to organizations that perform abortions. Naturally that didn't sit well with the nation's largest abortion chain, Planned Parenthood. So their lackeys at the Obama Justice Department jumped into the fray and sued the state of Indiana demanding the law be overturned. Obama-appointed judge Tanya Walton Pratt nullified the law and forced Indiana to make payments to Planned Parenthood. Fortunately, that's not the end of the story. President Obama will now have to defend his pro-abortion policy before the Supreme Court. Announcing recently that it would review the constitutionality of the so-called "Obamacare" program, the Supreme Court has agreed to examine among other things whether Obama's pro-abortion policy creates an unconstitutional coercion of the States. This is a direct test of Obama's heavy handed attempts to order states to pay for abortions. A ruling in our favor would once again allow states like Indiana to refuse to fund abortion providers. I started a website entitled “God Notes”, among others, on posterous.com (posterous was subsequently purchased by Twitter but promised everything would remain as-is) on 11/30/10 and continued posting to it thru 8/16/12. Around that time, or shortly thereafter, I suddenly received a pop-up telling me that I was “permanently banned” from posting on posterous. It did NOT explain why, not offer any opportunity to “contact” them and ask for more information, etc. Subsequently, I wrote a letter via postal mail to the last known address of posterous headquarters in San Francisco and it subsequently was returned to me un-read, as if there is nobody in that office anymore. Posterous did NOT go out-of-business, and you can still browse various posterous websites, but they removed ALL of mine except for one; namely my audio-bible website entitled www.HearingTheWord.posterous.com .

As of 2/19/13 this is the only posterous website of mine (of many) that remains available for viewing (and listening; it’s an audio site). Also subsequently, YouTube terminated my account citing, randomly, “copyright” issues and ‘community guideline” violations. However, YouTube signaled to me that they can pick-&-choose what they consider to be “community guidelines” even if it means being “too good” which seems to be the case (in one instance they chose a posting I made about an injured professional football player, entitled “thoughts & prayers for…” and used NO outside media footage(neither video or image or anything else) but simply a photo of the player’s name (created & photographed by me). Hence, what I ascertained, indirectly, was that I was becoming a political “hit job” by posterous/twitter and YouTube/google. They do NOT want nor like users who are “too conservative” (and yet I consider myself a moderate on the conservative side, indicating that extreme liberalism is the preferred “norm” for these institutions; whereas I frequently spoke out, and continue to do so, against abortion, and against gay marriage (yet am against gay bashing of any kind) .

Fortunately, I managed to salvage some of the posts  by going back to my gmail account from which the post was sent. However, in some cases this does not include the original content if it was linked to a YouTube video, etc. Nor do I have the time or means to put it all back together from the original content because I do not have a “perfect cataloging system” for all my various media means & modes  (much of it I do have backed up here& there but it’s on various different flash-drives, cd’s etc, some of which subsequently failed, or in one case I had a few flash-drives stolen).

Hence, the only response to such deletion or loss of intellectual property is to try to at least show what activity you did on such behalf (for the doubters, scoffers, cynics, & political hitmen) and urge fellow believers to put pressure on such institutions against political hit jobs (one problem being that conservatives tend not to make much, or enough, “noise” (perhaps part of the reason we still have an extremely liberal president) while small segments of liberalism make disproportionate “noise” to get what they want (the gay community being one of them). With that said, I present to you my T-note (standing for “theological notes) or “god note” library, in part, for what it is worth; and also possibly for potential future legal action against Posterous/Twitter and/or YouTube/Google . -VANDER-
